ChatGPT Health Apps
ChatGPT Health is a separate space inside ChatGPT, launched 7 January 2026, where you connect medical records and wellness apps and ask health questions grounded in your own data. Eight integrations were documented at launch: Apple Health, b.well, Function Health, MyFitnessPal, WeightWatchers, AllTrails, Instacart, and Peloton. It is waitlisted, and it is unavailable in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland.
The reason this page exists is a distinction almost every article blurs. Being connectable in ChatGPT Health is not the same as being installable from the plugin directory. Health has its own app list and its own authorisation step. Most of these apps work on both surfaces; at least one is documented only inside Health. If you conflate the two, you will confidently tell someone an app exists in their normal chat when it does not.
What connects, and on which surface
The surface column is the one to read. “Health and main chat” means the app is also installable in an ordinary conversation; “Health only” means the documented surface is Health, and nobody has published evidence of a directory listing.

Two are deliberately unranked. Apple Health is the iOS system health store — a data source you connect, not a third-party app with tools you invoke — and b.well is the records network behind the medical-record integration rather than something a user calls. Both matter to how Health works; neither is a listing we can score against our seven criteria.
The access gate, in full

Note what is not on that list: a paid plan. Early access covered Free, Go, Plus, and Pro. Individual apps can still charge — Function Health needs a lab membership and WeightWatchers needs a WeightWatchers one. Full constraints per app are on the availability page.
How Health is isolated from your other chats
This is the part worth understanding before connecting anything, and it is genuinely more protective than the ordinary apps surface. All four properties are OpenAI’s own documented behaviour.
Stored separately
Health conversations and connected apps are stored separately from regular ChatGPT chats, and health information does not flow into ordinary conversations.
Separate consent per app
An app must be granted access in Health explicitly, even when it is already connected to ChatGPT for other conversations.
Not used for training
OpenAI states that conversations in Health are not used to train its foundation models.
Routed, not blended
Health questions asked in a regular ChatGPT chat prompt you to move to the Health space rather than being answered with your connected data.
The per-app consent rule is the one people miss: an app already connected to ChatGPT for your other conversations still has to be granted access inside Health. That is a deliberate second gate, and it means connecting an app once does not quietly expose your health space to it.
A sixth way a brand looks connected without being in the directory
We track five patterns that make a company look like it has a ChatGPT app when it does not have a directory listing: reverse integration, an ACP commerce surface, a vendor-hosted MCP server, a content licensing deal, and an announcement that never shipped. ChatGPT Health adds a sixth, and it is the subtlest one yet, because this time the app really does run inside ChatGPT.
Health-surface-only connection
The app is real, it runs inside ChatGPT, and it is named by OpenAI’s own launch coverage — but the only documented surface is ChatGPT Health. Someone in London with a WeightWatchers membership who reads “WeightWatchers has a ChatGPT app” will go looking for it in their normal chat and find nothing, because the surface it lives on has not launched in the UK. The claim was true; the answer was useless. Say which surface.
What we still cannot tell you
- What most of these apps actually do inside Health. Launch coverage names the partners and gives a phrase each. Only Function Health and MyFitnessPal published their own announcements. WeightWatchers has not announced its app at all, which is why it carries a Needs verification status rather than a confident score.
- Whether any Health-only app is also in the directory. There is no enumerable list of directory plugins — we tested four mechanisms and closed the question — so “not documented in the directory” is the honest phrasing, not “absent from it”.
- How any of it performs. We have not tested inside ChatGPT Health. It was waitlisted at the time of writing and excludes the region this was researched from. Nothing on this page is a hands-on finding, and the app pages say so.
