Can ChatGPT connect to my bank account?
Last reviewed .
Yes, but not through an app in the directory. OpenAI launched ChatGPT Personal Finance in May 2026 as a first-party feature using Plaid, reaching over 12,000 institutions. Access is read-only — it can analyse balances, transactions, investments, and liabilities, and cannot move money.
Why this is the pick
This one is easy to get wrong in both directions. Bank connectivity is real, but it is an OpenAI first-party feature built on Plaid rather than a third-party plugin you install from the directory — so it does not appear in our rankings, and looking for a 'bank app' in the directory will not find it. The read-only limitation is the part worth repeating: it can analyse, not transact. Stripe is the only financial integration we review, and it reads Stripe, not your bank.
